After hiking a few miles we finally arrived at the Hickman Natural Bridge.  Below is an explanation of how it formed.

Hickman Natural Bridge is an adult meander natural bridge cut through Kayenta sandstone by two parallel tributary streambeds. These streams first incised a narrow wall of rock between them just upstream of their juncture. Then lateral stream piracy and wall collapse opened a shorter passageway for the flow, creating the arch. Because the opening has expanded to become much larger than the streambed, the arch is considered an adult.
