After a hearty meal of spaghetti we hiked from our campsite for about a mile along the Canyon Rim Trail until we reached the Sunset Overlook. There we patiently watched as the sun's last rays moved slowly up the side of the colorful sandstone formations. The image above was taken about 60 seconds before the rest of the valley went dark.
